How it works
Three steps from sign-up to a QR code you can print.
1
Create your free account
Sign up in a few fields. No credit card required.
2
Add your business details
Setup walks you through your name, description, phone, email, address, hours and links.
3
Publish and download your QR code
Publishing makes your profile live and creates its QR code. Download it from your dashboard.
Where can businesses use QR codes?
Anywhere a customer might want to reach you later. The same QR code works in every one of these places.
💼
Business cards
Hand someone a card and they can call, save your contact or get directions without typing anything.
🚚
Work trucks & vehicles
Parked at a job site, your truck becomes a way for neighbors to reach you. Print the code large with plenty of contrast.
🏪
Storefronts & windows
After hours, passers-by can check your hours, call you later or save your details for next time.
🏡
Yard signs
On job sites and property signs, people can reach you while they are standing right there.
📰
Flyers & brochures
Give readers one quick way to act on what they just read, instead of a list of numbers and addresses.
🧾
Estimates, invoices & receipts
Customers who already worked with you can save your contact and find you again for the next job.
🛒
Counter displays
A small stand by the register lets customers save your details or find your Google listing.
🎫
Event booths & name badges
At fairs and trade shows, people can save your contact in seconds while the line moves.
📢
Printed advertisements
Newspaper, mailer and bulletin board ads can point straight to your profile and its contact buttons.
Keep your information current without replacing the QR code
Your Business Profile QR code opens your hosted profile, not a fixed phone number or address.

What stays as printed
Text printed next to the QR code on cards, signs and vehicles
Anything already printed on flyers, brochures and ads
The QR code image, which does not need to change when your profile does
When you change your phone number, hours or website, customers see the new details the next time they scan.
The printed QR code keeps working as long as you keep it in your account. Text printed beside it does not change,
so keep printed details short or general if they might change.
Business Profile QR code vs. a QR code with just a phone number or website
Both are useful. They do different jobs.

Opens your Business Profile, where customers choose how to reach you
Ways to reach you

When your details change
A phone-number QR needs a new code; a web-address QR works while that address stays the same
Update your profile; the same QR code opens your latest details
Needs a website
A web-address QR needs a page to open
No. BCITiny hosts your profile
Good choice when
You want a single, fixed action
You want to give customers several ways to reach you
BCITiny also offers single-purpose QR codes for calls, text messages, email, Wi-Fi and contact cards, and each one counts toward your plan's QR code limit.
Call, text and email QR codes open through a BCITiny link, so you can edit the number or address later.
Wi-Fi and contact-card QR codes store their details in the image itself, so changing them means downloading and printing a new QR code.
Do I need a website?
No. Your Business Profile is hosted by BCITiny, so your QR code always has a mobile-friendly page to open.
If you already have a website, add it to your profile and customers get a Visit Website button.
Straight answers about creating and using a QR code for your business.
How do I create a QR code for my business?
Sign up for a free BCITiny account, add your business details and publish your Business Profile. Publishing creates your profile QR code, which you can download from your dashboard and add to cards, signs, flyers and more.
Is a business QR code really free?
Yes. The Free plan includes one Business Profile page and one QR code with no monthly fee. It does not expire and no credit card is required. Free profiles show BCITiny branding and ads. Starter is optional and adds your logo, up to 3 QR codes and no BCITiny ads.
What happens when someone scans my QR code?
Their phone opens your BCITiny Business Profile in the web browser. From there they can call you, send an email, get directions, visit your website, save your contact or open your Google Business Profile and Facebook page. Buttons appear for the details you add.
Do customers need an app to scan it?
They do not need a BCITiny app. Most modern smartphones can scan QR codes with the built-in camera; some older phones may need a QR scanner app. Your profile opens in the phone's web browser.
Can I change my business information later?
Yes. Edit your profile in the dashboard anytime, including your phone number, email, hours, address, website, description and links. Customers see the updated details the next time they scan.
Will I need a new QR code if my information changes?
Not for your Business Profile QR code. It opens your hosted profile, so updated details appear without a new code, as long as you keep that QR code in your account. You only need to reprint if you change information printed next to the QR code. Wi-Fi and contact-card QR codes are different: they store their details in the image, so changing them means a new QR image.
Can I use the QR code on my work truck?
Yes. Add your downloaded QR code to your vehicle graphics. People often see a truck from farther away than a card, so make the code large, keep strong contrast and clear space around it, and test scanning from a realistic distance before the graphics are installed.
Can I put it on signs and flyers?
Yes. Use the same QR code on yard signs, window signs, flyers, brochures and counter displays. Every scan opens the same Business Profile.
Can I put it on business cards?
Yes. Add the QR code to your card design or send it to your printer. Print a test card and scan it with your phone before ordering a full run.
Do I need a website?
No. Your Business Profile is hosted by BCITiny, so your QR code has somewhere useful to open even without a website. If you have a website, add it and customers can tap Visit Website from your profile.
Can customers save my contact information?
Yes. The Save to Contacts button downloads a contact card (vCard) with your business details, which most smartphones can add to their contacts.
What size should I print a QR code?
There is no single size that works everywhere. The right size depends on how far away people will be, print quality, contrast, lighting and where the code is placed. Keep the code dark on a light background with clear space around it, avoid stretching or blurring the image, and be careful with shiny or curved surfaces. Print a test copy and scan it with a few different phones from the distance customers will actually use before you print in quantity.
